One Canopy for the MGB Starbridge flatbed moped It all starts with the customer’s needs and a carefully considered choice of materials. In this project, the customer contacted Marstrands Marintextil AB via email to ask how much a custom-made canopy would cost. Together, we reviewed various materials and possible solutions before the customer made a decision.

The result was a black canopy made of canopy fabric, patterned on site to fit the shape of the flatbed moped. After taking measurements, finalizing the price proposal, and approving the quote, the order proceeded to production. When the customer picked up the finished canopy, they were very satisfied and even left a review.

Canopy for the MGB Starbridge flatbed moped – from email to finished project

The customer’s first question was simple: How much does a canopy for my flatbed moped cost? To provide a relevant answer, we needed to discuss what the customer wanted to cover and which material would best suit their needs. Standard PVC was one of the options we discussed.

We helped the customer compare the options and find a solution where the choice of materials and the budget could be coordinated. Learn more about our manufacture of canopies for flatbed mopeds and utility mopeds if you're planning a similar project.

A question about price that turned into a discussion about materials

We want the customer to understand what factors affect the price. That’s why we reviewed various options instead of settling on the first solution. The materials, desired design, and scope of work need to align with the price quote the customer receives.

The final price was determined after creating a template and taking measurements. We were then able to provide a quote for the solution that would actually be manufactured for the customer’s MGB Starbridge flatbed moped.

Black chapel fabric, based on the customer's choice of material

The customer initially considered PVC but ultimately chose canopy fabric. After our review, the customer preferred that material and wanted to prioritize that option, even though the price was higher than the standard option we had discussed.

The photos show the finished black fabric and the shape of the canopy over the vehicle. The choice of canopy fabric was part of a personalized solution guided by the customer’s preferences, with a clear price quote provided before work began.

PVC or canvas for a flatbed moped?

PVC and awning fabric are different material options. Which one is best depends on the specific awning, how it will be used, and which features the customer prioritizes. In this case, the customer preferred awning fabric and chose it after discussing the options with us.

We review the materials and workmanship before placing the order. This allows the customer to evaluate both the solution and the cost before approving the quote.

Fit Based on the Vehicle's Shape

The cover is designed to fit the flatbed moped that was modeled here. The photos show how the black fabric follows the contours of the vehicle and wraps around the sides. The seams and panels shape the cover to fit the specific design.

A cover for an MGB Starbridge flatbed moped must be evaluated based on the specific vehicle. Therefore, it is helpful to include information about the model, equipment, and desired coverage in your initial inquiry.

On-site layout and measurement

The customer brought the flatbed moped to us for on-site modeling and measurement. This allowed us to work with the vehicle’s actual shape and develop the documentation needed for manufacturing.

After the design phase, we compiled the final price proposal and sent a quote to the customer. This allowed the customer to approve the planned solution before the order proceeded.

Clear specifications prior to manufacturing

The template helps us determine the shape, dimensions, and scope of the work. It is an important step when customizing a canopy for a specific vehicle. We want the choice of materials and the design to be finalized before manufacturing begins.

If you have a similar project, we'd be happy to start by reviewing some photos and a description. We'll then assess what information is needed and whether the flatbed moped needs to be brought to the workshop.

Approved quote, project invoice, and down payment

Once the quote was finalized, the customer approved the price proposal. The order was then converted into a project invoice, and payment was processed as agreed.

We accepted the down payment and then began manufacturing the canopy. The process was clear to the customer: first, selecting materials and taking measurements; then, approving the quote; and finally, carrying out the work as ordered.

A very satisfied customer at pickup

Once the chapel was completely finished, the customer came to pick it up. The customer was very pleased with the result and even left a review after the project was completed. The positive feedback was a nice way to wrap up the project.

The four project images show the finished chapel from various angles, featuring black chapel fabric and a shape that follows the contours of the moped. From the first email inquiry to the pickup, the dialogue regarding needs, materials, and price was an important part of the project.
